Leave & Medical Support

 At REEP, we understand that life happens — whether it’s a medical condition, family care, pregnancy, surgery, or an unexpected hospitalization. This page outlines how different types of leave work, when you may qualify, and how to request support. Our goal is to ensure you are informed, protected, and supported. 

What Is FMLA?

 

Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)


  • Provides up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave
     
  • For qualifying medical or family reasons
     
  • Maintains group health benefits during leave
     
  • May run concurrently with other leave benefits

Who Qualifies?

 

Employees must:

  • Have worked for REEP for at least 12 months
     
  • Have worked at least 1,250 hours in the past 12 months
     
  • Work at a location with 50+ employees within 75 miles

Common Qualifying Reasons

 

  • Your own serious health condition
     
  • Birth of a child
     
  • Care for a spouse, child, or parent
     
  • Pregnancy complications
     
  • Inpatient hospitalization
     
  • Ongoing medical treatment

Short-Term Disability (STD)

 

 

  • Provides partial income replacement during qualifying medical leave
     
  • There is a 7-day waiting period
     
  • Payments are issued directly by the carrier
     
  • Medical certification is requiredMay run concurrently with other leave benefits
